A COFFEE morning and book sale will be held at St Helen’s Church Hall tomorrow (Friday) from 10am-noon. Admission is £1 and includes refreshments.

HEAD Teacher’s Awards for speaking clearly in sentences when answering questions were presented to the following pupils of The Hill Primary School last week: Xoan Parry, Jamie Morris, Harry Finney, Thomas Feast, Ember Gollings, Justin Marsden, Molly Scaife, Abbie Hanson, Jake Crossley, Isabel Green, Caitlin Cattell, Megan Hollis, Shayla Danforth, Travis Peplow and Benjamin Leatt. Last Friday a group of pupils took part in a football multi-skills session at Oakwell Ground. On Monday Year 5 had a visit to Conisbrough Castle. New after school clubs include football coaching on Tuesdays, karate on Wednesdays, Hockey coaching with Sheffield Steelers on Thursdays and art on Tuesday lunch times.

A HEALTHY Breakfast Coffee morning was held at Gooseacre Primary School on Tuesday. Also on Tuesday the school choir took part in the Young Voices event at Sheffield Arena and Keepmoat Construction gave a talk on safety to the whole school. Today (Thursday) Mr Warren from the Christian Education Movement will be conducting assembly. A coffee morning takes place every Tuesday from 9-10am during term times.


DARFIELD Wesley Church Companions Group will meet for games and a quiz on Wednesday at 2.30pm.

BROWNIES and Guides will meet at Darfield Wesley Church on Tuesday.

VALLEY Methodist Church will be open for tea and a chat from 8.45am on Wednesday. Morning prayers will follow at 9.30am.

DARFIELD History Society meets in the Library every Tuesday from 10am-noon. They currently have a display on at the library detailing “Darfield Enclosures”. They would like to hear from anyone with old maps, photographs or documents, which they could copy to add to their archives.


A TODDLER Club will meet at Grimethorpe Pentecostal Church on Tuesday at 10am.

DRESS for Less, a charity shop run jointly by Community Partnership and Grimethorpe Pentecostal Church is open Monday to Friday from 10am-3pm.

A COFFEE morning will be held at Cudworth St John The Baptist Church Parish Rooms on Wednesday from 9.30am, proceeds for church funds.

CUDWORTH Methodist Male Voice Choir rehearse in Wesley Hall on alternate Fridays and Sundays at 7.15pm. The Ladies Choir rehearse on Tuesdays at 7.15pm. New members are welcome.
