Val Janssen and Mabel Clift were the best of friends and unfortunately both lost their fights with cancer within the space of a couple of weeks.

They both lived in Crowle and were much loved and valued members of Crowle Methodist Chapel and over the years, between them helped to raise many funds for the chapel, as well as other charities close to their hearts.

Val and Mabel were both cared for by staff at Lindsey Lodge Hospice.

April Buttrick, Val’s granddaughter and Lisa Dale, Mabel’s niece, have decided to organise a coffee morning, along with their families to help raise funds for the hospice and to make them aware of how deeply they appreciate everything the hospice did for their families at such a difficult time.

April said: “Every staff member within the hospice, from doctors, nurses, catering staff, through to volunteers are remarkable, the job they do is commendable and we will be forever grateful for the love and care they received.”

The coffee morning is being held on Saturday, July 21, at Crowle Methodist Chapel, 10am to noon.
