“Another small child has been ran over and suffered a terrible head injury and this needs to stop.

"There is now a large newly built park that children from all over flock to and 70% of them have to cross the main road to get to it.

"There is also a school on this road that has no crossing and a lollipop lady who is not their all the time - more needs to done for the children's safety.

She added: “Church Road has become like a race track and people are driving at ridiculous speeds up and down.

"HGVs and farm equipment are also using this stretch of road frequently and it's just not safe for our children.

"I'm asking for this petition to be signed and act as a voice to get some form of speed restrictions and crossing put it place - no child should have to be injured to make this happen but it has so please help me stop this happening again.”

Police an emergency services were called on Saturday about 12.50pm following the collison.
