A woman has suffered life-threatening injuries following a collision on the A1 in the early hours of this morning.
A Citreon C3 left the northbound carriageway between junction 36 and 37 just after 3.30am today (Thursday 9 April) and collided with the embankment.
The passenger in the car, a 27-year-old woman, suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
The driver, a 38-year-old man suffered minor injuries.
The A1 northbound between Junction 36 and 37 remains closed at this time.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision.
