Woman suffers life changing injuries after Hexthorpe dog attack

A woman has suffered life changing injuries after she was attacked by a dog in Hexthorpe.

South Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward after the 51-year-old was seriously hurt.

Officers were called to an incident in Ramsden Road at about 7.40pm on Wednesday September 30 to reports that a woman had been attacked by a dog while out walking.

The woman was walking along Ramsden Road towards the Crawshaw Road junction when the incident happened.

She suffered potentially life-changing injuries as a result of the attack and officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the attack or saw walkers in the area around that time to get in touch.

Officers investigating the incident have arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

The man has since been bailed pending further police enquiries.

The dog involved in the incident has also been seized.
