Warning as Doncaster police raids uncover 'jelly babies' laced with illegal drugs
and live on Freeview channel 276
The most recent find was after a raid at Lime Tree Walk, Conisbrough on December 9. It follows on from a similar discovery when a warrant was carried out at The Homestead, Bentley, on November 26.
These brown, jelly baby style sweets are not something I had come across before, and it is a worrying trend. The idea of drugs in something that may appeal to children seems rather sinister, although there is no information suggesting children are being targeted. It is something for parents to be aware of.
Arrests were made after both raids.

On December 19, we obtained a partial closure order for a house on March Vale Rise, because of concerns over antisocial behaviour and suspected drug dealing. It means two people have been banned from the property for three months.
We will monitor the situation over the coming months.
We also raided a house at Woodlands Way, on November 27, where significant amounts of cannabis was found. A man was charged with possession of the drug.
We seized suspected class A and class B drugs after stopping a vehicle on Doncaster Road on December 2. The driver was arrested, and released while the substances are tested.

On December 16, we saw success in Bentley with the arrest of a house burglary suspect. There had been a break-in on Hunt Lane, and officers found the suspect near the scene.
He has been arrested and charged. We are hoping that could reduce the number of burglaries over the Christmas period.
In Adwick, a raid uncovered a 77-plant cannabis cultivation set-up on South Street on November 22 after we went round to investigate a suspicious incident. Another suspicious incident led us to find another set-up on West Avenue on December 8.
