Secret drugs stash worth over £10,000 seized in Doncaster woods after police find it by accident

Officers on patrol in Edlington Wood found a hidden container containing class A drugs, worth several tens of thousands of pounds. The contents are still being analysed and we are investigating who it belongs to.
It was an area where there had been an issue with off-road motorbikes, and officers on proactive patrol on October 24 just stumbled across it, but it will be a significant hit for drugs suppliers in the area.

Also in Edlington, on October 21, we carried out a drugs raid at a house on Staveley Street. Class A drugs were found and investigations are ongoing.
Mexborough also saw drugs raids this month. A raid on Schofield Street uncovered a 355-plant cannabis factory, and a man was arrested on site. On the same street, we stopped a car and found a man in possession of cannabis and several bladed items, for which he was arrested.
Mexborough also saw a man arrested on Chatsworth Avenue in possession of class A drugs on October 10; and a man arrested on Chestnut Grove for possession of an axe after he was stopped for the manner of his driving.

We also saw drugs seized in Bentley. A 51-plant set up was found at Winnipeg Road after a house was reported as unsecured on October 15; and four people were arrested after drugs were found after suspicious activity was reported on West End Avenue.
Cannabis plants were also found at The Crescent, Adwick on October 6; and at Riverdale Road, Scawthorpe, after concerns were raised about tampering with the electricity supply.
While this work is going on, we are also seeing a rise in the number of reports of people breaking the restrictions that are in places since Doncaster was placed under tier three restrictions to tackle Covid 19 levels.
