Robbers hit betting shop in masked raid

Police are appealing for more information after masked men stole a quantity of cash from a betting shop in Bircotes.

Two men entered the Ladbrokes betting shop on Scrooby Road just before 8.30pm on Monday January 27, 2014) and demanded money.

They then fled from the premises with a quantity of money.

There were no weapons seen and no one was injured.

No customers were in the shop at the time.

Detective Inspector Ash Wilson said he urged anyone with information to come forward.

DI Wilson commented: “This type of incident is uncommon and, although the staff member was incredibly shaken by the ordeal, thankfully no one was injured.”

He added: “Patrols have been increased in the area to provide reassurance.”

“If you have any information about those responsible please call us.”

The men were white and wearing dark coloured hooded tops.

Their faces were covered and it is thought they joined a third man in the car park before leaving the scene on foot.
