Protester fined at court

A Swinton woman has been fined for taking part in an environmental protest close to a power plant.

Jacqueline Westwood, aged 57, of Wentworth Road, was fined £210 for being part of a group which stopped a train carrying coal to Cottam power station in Nottinghamshire.

The protesters boarded the train and unloaded the coal cargo.

Westwood pleaded guilty to trespassing.
