Police are hunting the owner of a dog which killed an other dog in an attack in Rotherham.
Officers were told a lurcher-type dog being walked off its lead attacked a Schnauser near Ravenfield ponds, Ravenfield.

He was with a woman and three small children.
They left the scene in a gold-brown saloon car.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “It is reported that a woman was walking her dog, a pedigree Schnauzer, near the Ravenfield ponds when an unknown man approached with a lurcher-type dog that was not on a lead.
“The lurcher-type dog is believed to have bitten the Schnauzer, killing the animal almost instantly.
“The man walking with the other dog did not give his details to the dog owner but provided a telephone number, which later turned out to be false.
“The woman was not injured but has been left considerably distressed.
“Did you witness the incident? Were you in the area near to the ponds at the time?”
