Motorists prosecuted for misusing parking badges in Rotherham

Three motorists have been fined for misusing free parking badges allocated to disabled drivers and passengers.

Waseem Kazmi, aged 46, of Middle Lane South, Herringthorpe, Rotherham, admitted using his son’s blue badge to park on Main Street, Rotherham, while his son was in school.

Deborah Taylor, 53, of Keppel Road, Shiregreen, Sheffield, was convicted by Rotherham magistrates of using a badge registered to a woman she cares for.

Robert Dowling, of Top Tree Way, Thrybergh, Rotherham, admitted using his partner’s blue badge to park in the Wellgate North car park in Rotherham when his partner was not with him.

There have been 79 prosecutions in Rotherham since 2010.
