Police have confirmed that the body of a man found in the water at Ashby Ville on Monday, July 23, was that of 22- year-old Maciej Dymowski from Scunthorpe.
A spokesman said: "We are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death."
Last week the Free Press reported concerns about the toxic nature of a blue green algae outbreak in these waters, and others across the country.
The spokesman added: "There has been some speculation that his death may have been caused by the blue green algae outbreak but at this stage we cannot say that this was a factor."
