Man stabbed in Rotherham town centre during row with group of youths

A man was stabbed during a row with a group of youths in Rotherham town centre.

Police said the 37-year-old man was walking through the town with his wife when an argument broke out with the youths.

During an altercation on Howard Street he sustained a number of stab wounds and needed hospital treatment.

The man has since been discharged and is said to be recovering at home.

Two 19-year-old men and a 20-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of wounding and have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Witnesses the incident at around 2.30pm last Tuesday should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 800 555111, quoting incident number 492 of December 9.
