A thug who assaulted his girlfriend and broke a restraining order after she continued to contact him has been jailed.
Jerzy Klimkowski, aged 55, admitted pushing his partner after a heated argument at her property in Christ Church Road on Friday.
Doncaster Magistrates’ Court heard Klimkowski was in breach of a restraining order by being at the property.
Police found him at her property again when they returned to speak to the victim three days later.
David Sheppard, prosecuting, said there were occasions when the victim admitted contacting the defendant.
He said: “She says when he is sober he is a nice person but when he is drunk he is significantly different and prone to this type of offending.”
The court heard Klimkowski had previously received a 43-week jail sentence for offences relating to the same victim.
Samina Rashid, mitigating, said: “It is unfortunate that she invites him to stay when it suits her but when it doesn’t calls the police and asks for him to be removed.”
The victim did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
Klimkowski pleaded guilty to one count of assault and two counts of breaching a restraining order. He was given a 20-week sentence.
