Man in court after Doncaster pedestrian injured

A man appeared in court today after a teenager was allegedly run down in Bentley, Doncaster, over the Bank Holiday weekend.

A 20-year-old from Bentley is understood to have been put in an induced coma by doctors after suffering a head injury in a collision on Askern Road on Sunday evening.

Askern Road was sealed off for several hours after the incident while police carried out a full investigation.

It is believed to have arisen from a family party at a property in the Askern Road area.

John Evans of Harrier Court, Grimsby, was arrested in connection with an alleged assault on Sunday evening and has been remanded until Tuesday, May 6, when he will appear at Sheffield Crown Court on a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.
