A 51-year-old driver has sustained life-changing injuries in a motorway collision.

Police want to speak to a driver who may hold vital information regarding the collision on the M18 motorway in Doncaster yesterday.

At around 12.25pm yesterday a blue Mitsubishi Shogun was travelling northbound on the motorway, approaching junction six near Thorne, when it was in collision with the parapet of a metal bridge.

The 51-year-old driver of the Shogun, from Grimsby, was taken to hospital with injuries described as life-changing.

Police now want to speak to the driver of a dark estate-style car, who it is thought could have witnessed the collision.

Witnesses should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 441 of 10 February 2014.
