Doncaster crime round-up - Spate of tool thefts

The following crimes were reported to Doncaster police on June 18. Anyone with information please call South Yorkshire Police on 101.

Cantley: Burglars forced the back door of a home in Aldesworth Road, Cantley, on Tuesday from 8.30am to 2pm. The alarm sounded and they fled empty handed.

Tickhill: Burglars broke part of the rear door at a house in Wheatfield Drive on Tuesday between 8.10am and 3.10pm. Alarm sounded and nothing was stolen.

Cantley: The frame of a upvc window was damaged during an attempted burglary at a home in Ellerton Gardens. They made off empty handed on Tuesday between 9.30am and 11.15am but still caused £200 worth of damage.

Wheatley: Burglars stole £1000 worth of power tools from a garage in Woodhouse Road. The door was forced and they took a saw, two drills and a power sander. It happened sometime between June 12 and 16.

Mexborough: Thieves stole a pedal cycle from outside a shop in Doncaster Road on Tuesday at 8pm. The owner had gone into the store and left his £600 black and red Cube mountain bike outside. When he came out the bike was gone.

Wheatley: Thieves stole power tools from an unsecure van worth £800 on Chestnut Avenue. They took four pairs of saws on Tuesday from 12.30am to 7.30am.

Intake: Youths stole a garden strimmer from a man cutting grass outside Flintwood Methodist Church. Police said two boys told the victim they were looking for their football before suddenly snatching the garden tool at 12.20pm on Tuesday.

Adwick: A Kawasaki motorbike was stolen from Brodsworth Road and later dumped between 11pm on Tuesday and 2.30am on Wednesday. The machine was found on the roadside nearby.
