Doncaster crime round-up: Doncaster child’s grave targeted by thieves

The following crimes were reported to police on Sunday June 22 and Monday June 23. Anyone with information call South Yorkshire Police on 101.

Thorne: Thieves have targeted a child’s grave at Thorne Cemetery. The raiders stolen solar lights from the graveyard at Thorne Cemetery on Southfield Road. The 33 year old complainant reported solar lights and plants stolen from her daughter’s plot at the site. It happened between 7pm and Sunday at 11am.

Finningley: A man wearing full motorcycling gear is thought to have stolen jewellery from a house on Bawtry Road Finningley. The man was spotted in the house by the occupant at 1.30pm on Wednesday, and was described as wearing ‘full motorcycling attire,. He fled when he was seen, before getting onto a motorcycle and riding off. The occupant later found jewellery missing. He was described as 5ft 11ins tall and medium build.

Woodlands: Thieves removed glass from the window at a house on Lawn Avenue on Sunday morning between 2am and 11am. They got inside and stole a large amount of cash from the house.

Intake: Golf equipment and a mountain bike were stolen in a garage break-in at a house on Plunkett Road, Intake, between 11pm on Saturday and 6am on Sunday.

Thorne: A power drill, a saw and a grinder were stolen by thieves from a garage on Grampian Way. The thieves had forced a side door between 11pm Sunday and 8.30am Monday.

Rossington: Thieves broke into a shed to get tools before digging up and stealing plants from a garden on Parkland Drive. After breaking the lock to remove the tools, the tools which had been taken out to dig up the plants were just left in the garden. Around £600 worth of plants were taken in the raid, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Mexborough: Two sheds were broken into at York Road - but nothing was taken by the intruders. The padlocks were forced off between Friday at 2pm and Saturday at 2pm.

Bessacarr: A bicycle was stolen from the driveway of a house on Hake Hill Close between 7.30am and 8am on Friday. The £350 bike had been left briefly by a child who was visiting a friend, say police.

Rossington: Plants were stolen from plant pots in the garden of a house on Sylvestria Close. They were taken between 10.30pm on Saturday and 10.30am on Sunday.

Bentley: A man stole a chicken from the allotments behind The Homestead. A man was seen chasing one of the animals on Saturday night.

Stainforth: Hanging baskets and plants were stolen from a garden at Princess Avenue. Garden furniture was also taken in the raid between 10.30pm Saturday and 8am Sunday.

Stainforth: Garden ornaments were stolen from a house on Cedar Grove. The raid was between 11pm on Saturday and 8am Sunday.
