Doncaster crime round up, August 19: new vans stolen after keys left in ignition

The following offences were reported on August 18 and August 19. Anyone with information contact South Yorkshire Police on 101.

Dunscroft: A burglary took place at Broadwater Drive sometime between Friday August 15 and Monday August 18. The culprits forced a window to gain entry and stole a camera and items of jewellery including a ladies watch, also footwear.

Hyde Park: A pedal cycle was stolen after it was left insecure in a rear yard in Chequer Road between Sunday at 10am and Monday at 6am.

Scawthorpe: A computer games console and items of jewellery were stolen during a burglary at Stonehill Rise between August 8-18.

Balby: A window was smashed at a portable building in Tickhill Road between Saturday at 1pm and Monday at 7am and a mobile phone was taken.

Hexthorpe: A bike left insecure outside a property in Abbott Street was stolen at 4.20pm on Monday.

Bessacarr: A rear window was smashed at a house at 1.10pm on Monday, sounding the alarm, nothing was stolen.

Cantley: A pedal cycle left in an insecure garage in Ascot Avenue between 11.30am-12.30pm was stolen.

Mexborough: A van delivering to the Co-op in Adwick Road had a sports holdall stolen from the insecure cab between 12.45-1pm on Monday. The holdall contained a sat nav, wallet and some clothing.

Intake: Two brand new Peugeot Partner vans which were being delivered to Doncaster Racecourse in Leger Way were left with the keys in the ignition. Both vehicles were stolen at 1.30pm on Monday.

Town centre: A woman had her handbag stolen as she sat in the Four Seasons cafe in Printing Office Street at 3pm on Monday. The bag had been left on the chair next to her and contained a £400 mobile phone and £70 in cash.

Woodlands: A cocker spaniel dog was stolen from a pen in the garden of a house in The Circuit between Sunday at 5.30pm and 9am on Monday.

Tickhill: Damage was caused to the tennis courts at Tickhill Pavilion between 4-7.30pm on Monday.
