Doncaster crime round-up, August 18: Man arrested over stolen car

The following offences were reported on August 17 and August 18. Anyone with information contact South Yorkshire Police on 101.

Bessacarr: A man has been arrested and is in custody after stealing a BMW car from Rosehill Rise. There had been a break-in at the house, with the keys to the car taken, before it was taken from the drive. It was later recovered in Intake.

Dunscroft: Thieves broke into a house on Myrtle Road and stole the keys to a black Nissan Qashqai car, which they then took from the drive. The got into the house through and insecure ground floor window between 6pm on Saturday and 9.30am on Sunday.

Bessacarr: A laptop computer was stolen from a house on Rosedale Road after the rear door was forced by burglars. They struck between August 12 and August 17.

Cusworth: A man was seen running away from a house on Ramsey Crescent after a burglar alarm went off. He is believed to have tried th break in through the garage roof at 12.42am this morning.

Intake: A lawn mower was stolen from a shed on Lakeen Avenue between Saturday at 7pm and 12noon on Sunday. The thieves had forced the lock off.

Fishlake: Thieves smashed the window of a Volkswagen Golf car to get inside and steal the satnav. The raid happened on Far Bank Lane between 8pm and 8.30pm on Sunday.

Thorne: A sat nav was stolen from an insecure Volkswagen Golf on Southfield Road, between 8.30pm on Saturday and 8am on Sunday.

Thorne: An MP3 player was stolen from an insecure car on Ellison Road bat 1.24am on Sunday.

Moorends: Hundreds of birds were stolen from allotments on Barnsley Road. A total of 14 ducklings and 250 warren hens were taken from the site between August 14 and August 16.

Town Moor: A thent was stolen from the front garden of a house on Buckingham Road on Saturday night. The two-man tent was taken between 11pm on Saturday and 6am on Sunday.

Bawtry: A mobile phone is thought to have been stolen from a handbag from a woman who was out in the pubs of Bawtry on Saturday night. The victim had been in several pubs in the town between 8pm and 11.30pm when it is thought to have been taken while the bag was unattended.
