THE following people have appeared at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court charged with the following offences.
BALBY: A 22-year-old is behind bars after taking a car without permission. Andrew Simon Grundy, 22, of Riley Avenue, pleaded guilty to taking a car without consent, driving it so dangerously he caused a crash, as well as driving without a licence, insurance and being over the drink drive limit. Grundy was jailed for 16 weeks as the crash he caused left him and a passenger with injuries. He was also banned from driving for 48 months.
ARMTHORPE: A woman has paid a high premium for driving without insurance. Samantha Jane Stead, 35, of Woodfield Road, was found guilty of driving a Volkswagen Golf without the proper documentation in September last year and was fined £100, ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge and was banned for driving for six months due to repeat offending.
EDLINGTON: Magistrates opted against a glass ceiling policy of sentencing when dealing with a man who tried to steal a conservatory. Peter Frederick Hirst, 38, of Broomhouse Lane, pleaded guilty to a theft offence against Doncaster Council on February 13. He was ordered to pay a £50 fine and carry out 60 hours of unpaid work over the next year.
HYDE PARK: An alcohol thief is still in good spirits after being jailed for just one day. However, Lee Donald Dunn, 30, of Tudor Street, was let off serving the time because he paid a £50 fine and a £15 victim surcharge fee after admitting stealing the £9.99 bottle of vodka from Lidl.
