Railway police are appealing for help to identify a man they would like to speak to in connection with a bag stolen from WHSmiths at Doncaster station.

Officers have today released CCTV of a man they would like to speak about the theft which took place around 2.20pm on Monday, December 9.

PC Richard Soare of British Transport Police, said: “The man entered the store prior to the theft and spent approximately 20 minutes looking around. He then left and returned a short while later, went into the back office and stole a member of staff’s bag before fleeing.

“The bag, a black satchel with a large union jack emblem on the front, contained the victim’s bank and credit cards, house keys and a folder containing financial information about the store. I’d urge anyone who may recognise the man pictured to come forward and help this investigation.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 405040 quoting background reference NEA/B3 of 6/01/2014 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
