A PROMISING cricketer has been killed in a car crash.

Team-mates of Maninder Kundra, 22, of Warmsworth Cricket Club are mourning the loss of their pal who was well-known as Mindi.

Officials and players at Doncaster Town and Eden Grove, which were also among the clubs Mr Kundra played for, were shocked by the tragic death in North Yorkshire near Selby.

North Yorkshire Police were called at around 4.50am on Saturday to the scene at A1041 at Barlow.

Mr Kundra’s silver Vauxhall Corsa had left the road and come to rest in the ditch. No other vehicles were involved.

Police said Mr Kundra was pronounced dead at the scene.
