Cricket round-up: Wath inflict first defeat on Conisbrough | Sprotbrough win again

Conisbrough suffered their first league defeat of the season against a Rob Barlow-inspired Wath.

Barlow hit 15 boundaries in his excellent knock of 107, off 139 balls, as Wath posted 228-5 from their 50 overs.

Wath’s skipper then claimed 4-58 with the ball as Conisbrough could only limp to 200 all out with two balls remaining.

Overseas star Arosh Janoda hit 72 from number seven for the visitors.

Elsewhere in the South Yorkshire League Championship, Tickhill claimed their first win at Collegiate B.

Australian Daniel Babula bowled well to snare 5-44 as the hosts were removed for 112.

Tickhill lost both of their openers for ducks but Ashley Fiddler (43no) and Aaron Haycock (51no) led their side to a seven-wicket win.

Sprotbrough recorded a comprehensive nine-wicket win at Shiregreen to go third in Division One.

Michael Threapleton (5-29) and Jake Wigney (4-34) did the bulk of the damage as the hosts were skittled for 68 before Sprotbrough completed the run chase with minimum fuss.

Warmsworth sit second in Division Two after a 107-run win over Wath B.

Andrew Haywood (43) and Chris Hadley (47) helped the Common Lane club post 177-9 before Wath crumbled to 70 all out.
