People are being encouraged to saddle up for a ‘Big Bike Day’ in Doncaster.

The UK’s biggest cycling charity Sustrans is teaming up with Doncaster Council and the town’s Atherton Godfrey solicitors to host a fun and informative cycling event for the borough to get more people on their bikes.

As well as a ‘Doctor Bike’ offering where people can get their cycles fixed, there will also be training sessions, a cycle stunt show and other attractions.

Doncaster’s Big Bike Day will be held on Saturday, June 22, between 10.30am and 3.30pm at Bessacarr Primary School in Ellers Avenue, Bessacarr.

The event is being held during the national Bike Week which takes place between June 15-23.

Several of the town’s schools are signed up to the Sustrans’ Bike It project including Arksey Primary, Conisbrough Balby Street and Armthorpe’s Southfield Primary.
