DEARNE community groups are being encouraged to apply for cash from a new funding pot launched by the South Yorkshire Community Foundation.
The Legacy Fund has almost £200,000 available in grants for voluntary, community or faith-based organisations in South Yorkshire.
The grant pot has been made available as part of the legacy funding after the disbanding of South Yorkshire Open Forum (SYOF), with grants of between £1,600 and £7,500 available.
Pauline Grice, chief executive of SYCF, said: “Due to the experience we have built up over nearly 25 years of grant distribution, the funds we deliver go straight to the heart of tackling local issues.
“Through SYCF, the Legacy Fund A will be distributed to local groups and projects that form the bedrock of community involvement and grassroots action.
