Cash for ‘sizeable’ community project is now up for grabs in the Isle

A major cash boost could be blowing in the wind for people in Ealand, Sandtoft and parts of Crowle and Belton.

The South Yorkshire Community Foundation, which runs the Tween Bridge Wind Farm Community Benefits Fund, is seeking groups who need cash to benefit the community.

The fund has been running for some time and donor E-on has asked the Foundation to help identify a one-off capital project which offers real scope to enhance community facilities.

Groups with their own building, or a long lease, who want to better their facilities for the local community, could receive a capital grant of up to £25,000.

Since the completion of the Tween Bridge Wind Farm E-ON has committed to providing grants to communities close to the development.

Grants are normally from £1,000 up to £5,000, but this is a ‘unique opportunity’ to gain a capital grant of up to £25,000 for a specific project.

Hopeful groups can ring Karen Walker on 0114 2429005 Tuesdays to Thursdays for more information.
