Firefighters were called to the M18 last night after a car burst in to flames.
Crews from Thorne and Goole fire stations were called to the M18 North, between junction six and seven, at around 7.20pm.
Police and the ambulance service also attended, and the driver of the car was taken to hospital with head injuries.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “We were called out to the car fire. A sole male driver of a car had hit a lorry.
“The lorry did not know that he had hit him and carried on travelling further up the M18, spilling his load on the way, which I believe was farming grains.
“One lane of the M18 was closed for about an hour.”
