Car occupants escape serious injury after big smash on key Doncaster route

The occupants of two vehicles involved in a collision which caused traffic disruption on one of Doncaster’s busiest roads escaped serious injury, police have said.

Police ambulance, fire crews and the air ambulance were all called to the collision on York Road at around 6.20pm on Sunday.

Two vehicles were in collision at the junction with Newlands Drive, causing tailbacks along York Road and nearby Sprotbrough Road.

A police spokesman said: “None of the occupants of the cars sustained serious injuries.”
