Car and shed blazes tackled by South Yorkshire firefighters

A number of vehicles went up in flames in South Yorkshire over the weekend.

Firefighters were alerted to a blaze on Genn Lane, Ward Green, Barnsley, at 4.20am today and a Citroen C2 which caught fire on Undergate Road, Dinnington, Rotherham, in the early hours of Saturday.

At 6am on Saturday a car was set alight on Steele Street, Holmes, Rotherham.

Another car was deliberately set alight on Jeffcock Road, Darnall, Sheffield at 2am on Sunday.

Firefighters also dealt with a spate of shed and outbuilding fires over the weekend.

In Sheffield there were incidents on Sylvester Street in the city centre, Robey Street, Page Hall and Hillcrest Road, Chapeltown.

There were also incidents on Wesley Road, Kiveton Park, Rotherham and Illsley Road, Darfield, Barnsley.
