Sheffield Strictly fans could have what it takes to be crowned the city’s Come Dancing Star of 2016.
For those who watched the last Strictly TV series and thought they could do better - here is the chance to step into the shoes of the show’s star dancers.
Sheffield’s Black Box Productions is hosting the city’s first charity Come Dancing event this summer - in aid of the Cathedral Archer Project.
Ten couples will take to the floor at Genting Club, on Arundel Gate, to perform in front of an audience of 200 on July 15, in hopes of being crowned the Come Dancing winners 2016.
Musical partnership Jennie Swift and John Slater will be putting the pairings through their paces ahead of the big night.
Sheffield dance teacher Jennie, aged 39, runs not for profit organisation Black Box Productions with musician John.
She said: “John and I love performing so when we decided to hold a charity night for Archers, we thought this would be perfect. We’re going to pick ten couples to work with us on their routines throughout April and May, so we’re looking for people who are keen and don’t necessarily have previous dance experience. On the night, all the couples will perform with our very own live band for the audience, as well as five judges.
“There’s going to be great prizes and we can’t wait to ee how our couples do, taking to the floor in front of their family and friends, it’ll be a great night.”
The only rule competition rule is that entrants must be aged 18 or over.
Couples can be same sex and all ages are welcome.
Jennie added: “We’d love to get a great mix of duos!”
