Hairdressers were inspired to become a cut above the rest at a special convention attended by salon workers from across North Lincolnshire.
North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe hosted Schwarzkopf UK’s Eduk8 employer training event at their recently refurbished ORA hair salon.
Workers from salons across the region, including Jenny B Hair Salon, Eden Hair, Harmony and Headkandi, attended to learn about colour theory, colour techniques, pearlescents and the new Schwarzkopf UK range.
Helen Ruiz, territory sales manager at Schwarzkopf UK, said: “It was a fabulous privilege to hold this education event at North Lindsey College.
“The aim of the event was to give a high level of education to our salons, in the local area, and it was great that we could hold the event in the fantastic facilities that North Lindsey College have to offer.”
The training session comprised of a mixture of colour theory and practical tasks.
Schwarzkopf UK staff members Sarah Giblin and John Beech demonstrated the brand’s new product range, which consisted of an age defying shampoo, in season colours and a new hair care product that minimises damage when colouring.
Former North Lindsey College student and current salon owner Jenny Blanchard said: “It’s great to come to events like this to learn new things, this event has really inspired my apprentice.”
The college has more than 20 hairdressing apprentices at salons in the North Lincolnshire area.
Karon Smith, curriculum leader for hair and beauty, said: “It is brilliant to have so many employers attend from all across the Humber region. Working with Schwarzkopf and local salons allows us to develop stronger links for future students.”
