Outlook better for producers

MANUFACTURING orders fell in the last three months, according to a the latest survey from a leading business organisation

But expectations for orders and output from November to December are for moderate growth, while the employment and investment picture remains relatively positive said the Confederation of British Industry.

Of the 395 manufacturers responding, 25% said output rose, while 28% said it fell. Numbers employed rose for the ninth consecutive quarter (+5 per cent), the longest run of rising headcount in the quarterly survey’s 40-year history.
