A Doncaster milliner has taken her hat off to Doncaster Racecourse and the annual St Leger Festival for an increase in business.

Based in Doncaster, Funky Fascinators create bespoke fascinators and hats for all occasions.

Since its launch seven years ago the company has grown steadily with orders rapidly increasing thanks to the growing popularity of racing fixture, including the prestigious Ladbrokes St Leger Festival.

The business, which creates a wide range of eye-catching designs for sale online and from its showroom, has seen more than a 50 percent increase in business this summer for events including St Leger compared with its first year of trading.

Funky Fascinators now employs four staff having started as a two person operation.

Charlotte Greaves, 43, owner of Funky Fascinators said: “The St Leger Festival is one of the biggest horse racing events in the calendar and this year we’ve had more orders for hats and fascinators than ever.

“Many ladies go all out to look their very best for Ladies Day so that they are in with a chance of securing the coveted Best Dressed Lady award and the fabulous prize package that comes with it. “I’m proud to say we’ve created fascinators that were worn by the winners of the last two years as well as for eight shortlisted contenders at last year’s event.

“I hope to see more Funky Fascinators creations in this year’s line-up of finalists.”
