FIREFIGHTERS had to work quickly to stop a fire spreading across two homes in Denaby Main.
The blaze started in the living room of a semi-detached bungalow on Sussex Gardens at 9.45pm on Monday.
Crews from Edlington and Dearne stations arrived at the scene and spent more than two hours tackling the blaze.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and used two hose reels to put the flames out.
A spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “They had to work quickly to stop the flames coming through the roof of the bungalow and there was a danger it could spread to the adjoining property.”
There were no occupants in the house and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
