Britain's Got Talent winner '˜Lost Voice Guy' to perform in the Isle

Britain's Got Talent winner '˜Lost Voice Guy' has been added to the line-up for this year's Rescue Day - The largest emergency services event of its kind in the world.

The event takes place on Saturday, July 7 and organisers have announced the comedian, also known as Lee Ridley, will perform at noon and will be available for photos and autographs during the day.

Lee, who has cerebral palsy, will be supporting HFR Solutions and Humberside Fire & Rescue Service who are undertaking a ladder climb challenge to raise money for “Emma’s Wish”.

The charity aims to raise £40,000 to pay for a selective dorsal rhizotomy operation for two-year-old Emma Smyth, from Hull, which could ease the symptoms of her cerebral palsy and help her to walk.

Emma’s dad Jon, who is a serving fire fighter with Humberside Fire & Rescue Service, is attempting to summit Mont Blanc in September and will be running the Copenhagen Ironman in August to raise money for Emma.

Teams of fire fighters will be performing ladder climbs at Rescue Day on a tower scaling up and down to the equivalent of 4,810 meters -the height of Mont Blanc.

Jon Smyth said: “I’d like to say a massive thank you to all the people who have helped get this up and running and thank you to all the people who have already started fund raising. Its amazing to have you all on board. I can’t believe HFS Solutions have got this amazing comedian to support Emma’s Wish at Rescue Day, thank you so much, it’s going to be a great day.”

We’d also like to thank Brand Energy and Infrastructure Services who are making the ladder climb challenge possible by building the tower.”
