Little Layla Taylor was left heartbroken after she lost a giraffe comforter blanket which she has had since birth.

Her mum Michelle contacted the media to help reunite the two-year-old with the toy - called Jambo - and when bosses at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park heard of the appeal, they stepped in to supply a replacement.

Said Michelle: "Layla is very happy that she has another one.

She added: "She was lost without it. Layla took him everywhere. She has had him since birth and he's very special to her."

The comforter toy was lost at the Morrisons supermarket in Woodfield Way on April 23.

Added Michelle: "Jambo was bought from the Yorkshire Wildlife Park and named after the giraffe there called Jambo."

Yorkshire Wildlife Park supplied a new Jambo after reading of Michelle's appeal.
