Artists urged to donate their work for charity sale

Artists from across the region are being asked to donate pieces of work for a charity auction in aid of a Barnsley gallery.

The sale, on Friday, October 24, will raise cash to help maintain and extend the Cooper Art Gallery.

Organisers are hoping to raise money towards their £765,000 target.

Margot Walker, Cooper 100 Appeal Coordinator, said: “We’re calling on artists in Barnsley and across Yorkshire to donate just one piece of work for our auction and support our exciting project to revitalise our gallery.

Donations of artwork for the auction are asked to be at a value of £100 to £500 and will be put on display at the gallery from Saturday, October 11, until the auction.
