Arsonists strike twice

ARSONISTS set fire to two cars in Wath in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Firefighters from Dearne Station were first called out to West Street after residents reported that a Vauxhall Vectra had gone up in flames.

They arrived at 4.25am and spent 30 minutes tackling the blaze using a hose reel.

While there they got another call after reports a VW Golf had been set on fire on nearby Ash Road.

They spent about 20 minutes putting the flames out.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said both fires were started deliberately.
