A&E waiting time targets met at North Lincolnshire hospital

A report which went before the Trust board meeting this week shows during June 96.8 per cent of patients were seen within the four hour target set out under Monitor’s key performance standards. The last month the Trust met this target was September 2014.

It means the Trust is currently meeting all of the Monitor key performance indicators set out in the Risk Assessment Framework.

In addition to A&E targets it also sets out performance measures on infection rates, 18 week waiting times and how quickly cancer patients are treated.

All of the cancer waiting time targets, including seeing suspected cancer patients within two weeks of urgent GP referral, were met.

Wendy Booth, director of performance assurance, said: “Ensuring people with suspected cancer are seen and treated as quickly as possible is a high priority for the Trust and we are pleased to report we have consistently exceeded this target.”

Karen Griffiths, chief operating officer, added: “The Trust’s A&Es in Grimsby and Scunthorpe have been performing exceptionally well under the pressure of increased demand and a number of initiatives we have introduced appear to be paying off. I’d like to thank all our emergency care staff for their hard work.”
