Activities on offer to entertain Rotherham children over the summer

A programme of activities is on offer in Rotherham town centre over the summer aimed at keeping children and families entertained.

On Thursday, July 30 circus skills workshops will be available in All Saints Square, with escapology and fire stunt displays planned.

The following week - Thursday, August 6 - there will be a birds of prey display, exotic animals, nature workshops and animal mask making in the square.

On Thursday, August 13 a bungee run and human roulette wheel will be available to try in All Saints Square and a ‘Space Hopper Grand National’ is planned.

A disco and party games are to be held in All Saints Square on Saturday, August 22.

From Tuesday, August 25 to Thursday, August 27 Clifton Park will host a ‘Clifton-by-the-Sea’ festival from 10am until 3.30pm each day.

Councillor Denise Lelliott said: “It’s great that the council can continue to arrange these fantastic, free fun days to give Rotherham families some really fantastic entertainment.

“It certainly achieves the aim of having something a bit different each week with plenty of free events, attractions and activities on offer.”
