Lincolnshire County Council withdrew their support from this agreement in April 2016 which meant their residents could use the North Lincolnshire HRCs.

To continue to provide this service for residents with commercial-type vehicles and trailers who live outside of North Lincolnshire would be very costly, therefore it has been decided that a permit system will be implemented.

Residents in the Lincolnshire County Council area with a commercial vehicle or trailer who want to continue using the HRCs in North Lincolnshire can buy an access permit for £120 a year for their chosen site for up to 12 visits per year.

If you wish to continue to use the HRCs in North Lincolnshire, contact the waste and recycling team on 01724 297848 or email [email protected] to buy your permit.

Councillor Neil Poole, cabinet member for Neighbourhoods, said: “The law requires councils to make arrangements for their residents to be able to dispose of their excess waste and recycling. This does not include making provision for residents in neighbouring areas.

“However people in Lincolnshire have been accessing our Household Recycling Centres for many years and we didn’t want to completely cut them off from using this service after Lincolnshire County Council withdrew their support. We have considered our options and have decided that by implementing a permit system for residents living outside of the area would be much fairer.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused by these changes, but unfortunately this was taken out of our hands.”
