Drivers are advised that the Highways Agency will be resurfacing sections of the southbound A1(M) between Junction 37 and Sprotbrough motorway depot, near Doncaster, next week.
Resurfacing work will be taking place near Junction 37 southbound entry slip road and near Sprotbrough motorway depot, one mile north of Junction 36. The work will also include replacing white lines and road studs from Junction 37 to the Don Viaduct and on the motorway depot access slip roads.
In order to carry out the work it will be necessary to close the southbound A1(M) between Junction 37 and 36 overnight from Monday 21 to Friday, March 25. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am and the diversion route will be clearly signed.
During the closures traffic will leave the A1(M) at Junction 37 and take the first exit onto the A635. Drivers will then follow the A638, A630 and A6182 White Rose Way through Doncaster to join the M18 westbound at Junction 3. Drivers will continue on the M18 to Junction 2 where they will exit the M18 and rejoin the A1(M) southbound.
Highways Agency project manager, Andrew Jennings, said: “This work will improve safety and provide an improved road surface for drivers. We ask that drivers take extra care when travelling along the diversion route.”
