Lovers of vintage vehicles, music and frocks are set to flock to a Doncaster town this weekend for a charity extravaganza.

People attending this year’s charity pageant in Bawtry will be given the chance to ride in rally cars as well as classic motors and super cars.

The event on Sunday will also be open to Cherished Cars from across the region with more than 100 expected to roar into town.

Scores of Bawtry cafés, restaurants and bars are also set to take part in the charity event which will centre around the Market Hill Car Park.

Event organiser Gordon Tulley said: “It’s going to be as family fun day for all visitors. Everyone is looking forward to it.

“Book your kerb-side dining tables, Italian, Indian, English lunch or afternoon tea, steaks and burgers now!”

Those attending are also set to be transported back in time with many donning period costumes from the 40s and 50s. Members of the public with a penchant for the past are asked to get in touch with organisers, who are still looking for vintage models for a fashion show that is due to be held from 12.30pm. There will also be vintage stalls and live entertainment in three Bawtry venues, with DJs playing music from the 1940s, 50s and 60s.

Pilgrim Bandits, Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes are among the charities set to benefit from this year’s annual fundraiser, which has helped to raise hundreds of pounds since 2012.

The vintage pageant will be held from 10am until 4pm.
