ARE you a budding script writer, itching to see your masterpiece interpreted onstage?

Sheffield Theatre’s artistic team is looking for original submissions to be performed on their first Crucible Writers’ Night.

The plays will be chosen by the Theatre’s artistic team and performed in the Studio Theatre on Monday, July 11. The competition is open to writers of all experience levels.

Writers are asked to submit work that will be ten minutes in length, to be performed with no more than three actors and with minimal technical requirements.

Writers must be based in South Yorkshire and the plays need follow the theme of “living in a big society”.

Daniel Evans Artistic Director for Sheffield Theatres said: “We are looking for submissions from anyone with a passion for theatre and new plays, especially from local writers or anyone hoping to forge a future career in playwriting or scriptwriting”.

Deadline is June 3 at 6pm. All submissions must be in hard copy and include a one-page cover letter, detailing writing experience and contact details.
