SAUCY dancers, two unconscious princesses and musical legends from rock ‘n’ roll to prog rock...
That’s the line-up planned to wow audiences in Doncaster Civic’s newly-announced autumn/winter programme!
The list includes shows from Andy Powell’s Wishbone Ash, a Burlesque night and more classical music mastery from Manchester Camerata.
The season – which starts in September during St Leger week – begins with a tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and runs to the New Year with the Christmas panto, Sleeping Beauty.
Kids are catered for with stories about Stick Man and The Selfish Giant, plus a vast array of performances from local dance and performing arts schools.
Chamber orchestra Manchester Camerata are returning, along with Tenorissimo – who will be singing some opera favourites.
The 50s and 60s are covered by the Rat Pack, Rock & Roll Paradise and Sounds of the Glenn Miller Era.
Andy Powell’s Wishbone Ash will delight prog-rockers, while Foreigner’s Journey and Bravado play rock and Spiers & Boden play punky English folk.
Much Ado About Nothing leads the drama line-up.
Comedy comes from Radio 4’s Mark Steel, Puppetry of the Penis (3D), Jethro and The Glee Club plus a look at the life of Frankie Howerd in Frankie Titters On.
The Moscow Ballet – La Classique also perform Sleeping Beauty and an Evening of Burlesque will be all tease and no sleaze.
