SHAKESPEARE’S A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be staged by Far Out Theatre in the picturesque grounds of Cusworth Hall tomorrow and Saturday.

The show is part of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Open Stages Project.

Company Director Vicky Evans said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been selected to take part in the RSCs Open Stages.

“It’s a great opportunity to raise the profile of theatre and the arts in Doncaster and we’re looking forward to working with Cusworth Hall to make this a truly memorable experience.”

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s best known works, and is a magical tale of love, jealousy and talking donkeys.

Vicky added: “Cusworth is a perfect setting for our take on the play.

“It’s really easy to get to and there’s free car parking in the evening. We’ll be performing in the courtyard adjacent to the mansion.

“It’s a lovely, intimate space that one of the hall’s curators always had in mind for theatre.

“We’ll be giving the show a very bohemian music festival feel – lots of colour and light and some very quirky costume designs!”

“In the spirit of the Open Stages project and very much in keeping with their own way of working, Far Out Theatre will be working closely with both professional and amateur actors from the local community.”

A Midsummer Night’s Dream will run at Cusworth Hall Friday, June 17 to Saturday, June 18, starting 7.30pm.
