Skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are to embark on their fifth live Dancing on Ice Tour, writes Kevin Rogers.

The Olympic medal–winning pair will join a new line-up of celebrity skaters to perform dazzling routines with four performances at the Motorpoint Arena.

Last year’s Dancing on Ice champ Hayley Tamaddon will star in this year’s Dancing on Ice Live Tour!

The former Emmerdale star impressed judges on the ITV1 show with her flawless performances with professional skating partner Dan Whiston. Best known for their Jai Ho routine, the pair won the nation’s hearts and Hayley has said she is thrilled to be back on the ice again in this year’s live tour.

More celebrities taking part in the 2011 tour will be announced shortly, along with the judging panel who will cast their expert opinions on each performance. Torvill and Dean choreograph all of the incredible show routines, including their own spectacular, show-stopping performance.

At each performance, the audience can vote for their favourite celebrity skater. Using the same format as the hit ITV1 show, spectators can use their mobile phones to text vote for their favourite celebrity. Audience votes will then be added to scores from the judges to decide the overall celebrity winner. The winning couple then take to the ice for a magical finale performance.

As with previous tours, all profits from text voting will go to charity. More than £100,000 has been raised to date – which in previous years has been donated to the Royal London Society for the Blind and Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

Torvill and Dean’s Dancing Ice Tour 2011 is at the Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield, on Saturday and Sunday, April 9-10.
