ENJOY fresh air, free walks and a frugal break on a Holgate’s Pod Retreat this New Year.

Award winning holiday park Holgates in Cumbria is offering frazzled partygoers a purse friendly ‘Pod Retreat’ this January, following December’s festivities.

Holgate’s Bay View site, which recently unveiled its brand new camping ‘pods’, provides the ideal location for a New Year escape.

At a time of year usually reserved for watching the pennies and weighing the pounds, escaping to this stunning holiday park provides a wonderful opportunity to recover amongst tranquil, calming surroundings – and without breaking the bank.

The camping pods sleep up to 6 people with prices starting from just £40 per night for 2 people over the New Year period, making for an inexpensive break to recharge the batteries.

Beautifully located by the sea, the site’s locally built camping pods are individually handcrafted and come complete with lighting, power point and heating.

Each pod is even insulated with lamb’s wool, so even the most camping-shy guest can enjoy a comfortable break and emerge feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.

Visitors can de-stress and could even burn off the excess Christmas calories with relaxing walks along the many stunning scenic routes on their ‘pitch-step’.

In true camping spirit, the pods do not include cooking facilities; however the site’s brand new bar and restaurant has been sympathetically converted from former farm buildings, featuring natural stone walls and flooring, full height oak-beamed ceilings and a comforting wood burning stove, as well as a great menu of local dishes.

Holgates offers peaceful holiday parks for caravans, motorhomes and tents in Cumbria and Lancashire. The family run company currently boasts the best campsite in the UK at its flagship Silverdale site which was awarded the top title of ‘England and Overall AA Campsite of the Year 2011’ in the AA Campsite of the Year Awards, beating off fierce competition from thousands of sites across England, Scotland and Wales earlier this year.
