THREE top comedians are on the bill at Tankersley Manor’s first comedy club night of the New Year.

The show – on Friday, January 28 – is presided over by MC Joe Rowntree, whose career includes writing put-downs for Anne Robinson on the Weakest Link and the award-winning hit TV show Brainiac: Science Abuse (Sky One) which saw him take part in live and highly dangerous scientific experiments. Opening is Dominic Woodward, whose confident and cheeky (sometimes grumpy) persona charms audiences, as he paints images of the quirky people he meets.

Nominated for Best Breakthrough Act at the Northwest Comedy Awards 2004, his set is a fast-paced ride through his life and the things that annoys him most.

He explains in side-splitting detail why he hates driving, gives an invaluable lesson on how to steal from the Post Office, and reveals all about his days behind the McDonalds counter.

Headlining Aussie, Wayne Deakin, is a regular at all Down Under comedy venues. He also tours constantly throughout the USA, Canada and now the UK.

He has a likeable, laconic style, that draws you in, and biting social commentary. Tickets £22 (members £20); doors open 7:30pm; showtime 9pm;.
